Star-Lord, also known as Peter Quill, is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe. He was created by writer Steve Englehart and artist Steve Gan and first appeared in Marvel Preview #4 in 1976.
Star-Lord is a charismatic and adventurous spacefaring hero who leads the Guardians of the Galaxy, a team of intergalactic misfits and outcasts. As the son of a human mother and an alien father, Peter Quill possesses enhanced strength, agility, and durability due to his alien heritage. He is also a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and is proficient in the use of various weapons and technology.
Throughout the years, Star-Lord has been depicted as a complex and multi-faceted character, dealing with issues such as his strained relationship with his father, his leadership responsibilities, and his romantic entanglements. He is known for his quick wit, devil-may-care attitude, and his penchant for getting into trouble.
Star-Lord gained mainstream recognition through the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he was portrayed by actor Chris Pratt in the Guardians of the Galaxy films. This portrayal further popularized the character and solidified his status as a fan-favorite within the Marvel Comics universe.
I originally purchased a raw 2017 Upper Deck Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Precious Metal Gems card and got it autographed through a paid signing. Currently there are only 5 copies of this card that have been autographed by Chris Pratt and authenticated by PSA.
